currently receives £50,000-a-week at the Gtech Stadium according to the remaining contract until 2026 with the club’s option to extend for another year.
The source added that United are aware of the player’s needs. The club are set to make contact soon to negotiate a fee. With Brentford expected to hold out at least £60million.
The 25-year-old Cameroonian has just finished his best season since the start of his career, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists in 38 Premier League games, finishing fourth in the list of top scorers.
United are looking to offload Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho. Who are both on loan and earn around £300,000 a week each, which would pave the way for Mbeumo to be paid.
Meanwhile, if the Manchester club agree to their demands, Mbeumo would remain the club’s highest earner, close to Mason Mount.
A few days ago, United signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves. Who is reported to be on a £200,000-a-week deal, making him the fourth-highest earner on the team, behind Mount, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
